How do I show the tasks due for each day in the task pad
for the specific calendar date I am looking at? I can
filter for today, but I want it to change as I move about
in my calendar. For instance if I go to tomorrow, I still
have the tasks for today.

Have you tried the "Active tasks for selected days" view?
