I've been searching old posts on how to fix a Taskbar (windows XP Home Ed)
that disappears when I remove the 'quick launch' toolbar and why my
individual files disappear when I minimise it and I have to use the ALT+TAB
option to bring them back up again. Going in a creating a new user account
eradicates this problem but I don't want to have lose all my settings and
emails just to fix this.
It seems the most prevalant cure is downloading scripts from
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm - Has anyone had any
downside to downloading this file (sorry Kelly if you are reading this)? I
don't know anything about scripts and don't want to find out later that this
will have caused me more problems.
Also I did find this way other way:
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete, Process Tab, end all explorer.exe and
iexplore.exe processes .
Type regedit in File - Rum
Delete these three keys.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRÂects2
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StreamÂs
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StreamÂsMRU
Back in Task Manager choose Shutdown menu - Reboot.
Is this procedure ok to do? I think it's getting you to delete registry
keys and I'm not too sure if i want to go down that path....
