Taskbar Icons

I am running XP Pro. the start up icons will not stay in the taskbar next
to the clock after restart. Such as printer status, sound card setting.I can
add them ok but everytime I restart there gone. Anyone have any ideas?

Try disabling the SSDP Discovery Service and the Universal Plug and Play
Device Host service.

Hi: wonder if u cld help me I am trying to find an icon for weather to put it
on my task bar but all I can find are ones that go on the desktop and I hate
my desktop being cluttered how do I find a tiny weather icon that I can just
click next to the volume control to give me the local weather had one long
time ago but can't remember senior moment again

It would help to know what printer.

Your printer should have a folder on the start menu with links to printer
utilities.

If an HP printer, Start button, Programs, hp whatever series, hp whatever
series Toolbox.

Similar for other brands of printers
