Hi
My OP system is vista business. The taskbar clock only shows hours &
minutes. My aim is to view the seconds as well.I went into Control
Panel,Regional & Language Option.Clicked on customize this format, time and on
Time format I choose HH:mm:ss I clicked the Apply and OK buttom. The clock
still shows no seconds. What can I do to fix this problem without installing
an additional software?

Hi Fritz

The taskbar closk does not display seconds. This was actually a deliberate
design choice:

The performance impact probably doesn't matter these days, when machines are
much more powerful. but the clock's Windows 95 design is still the same. I'd
guess Microsoft hasn't received numerous requests to display seconds. So
they just haven't bothered to change it.

If you are using the Vista Sidebar, several clock applets for the Sidebar
can display seconds. I use the "Sphere Timer" gadget:

Hope it helps,

I use that gadget as well. The countdown timer is handy when you have
something in the oven, like a pizza. I still might go back to using mr.egg,
which I have used since 2000. I've been waiting for that v2.0 vaporware for
years!

The standard clock gadget can also be made to display seconds, in its
options.
