Task Manager Question

BlankPosted previously about problems with pc. It's working well now, but just noticed something in the task manager. When I bring it up and look at the graph with cpu usage.... It's only running at around 3%, but every once in a while, there are red lines mixed with the green. It sort of spikes then the red lines disappear. I never noticed that before. It doesn't seem to affect anything, but I'm not sure it's normal.

Please advise... Thank you.

This is perfectly normal.

The red line indicated that the % of cpu utilization occuring in Kernel
Mode. The green line represents total cpu utilization. You can
enable/disable this diplay when you are on the "Performance" tab through the
View menu.

Click View -> Show Kernel Times
