Task Manager, 5 svchost.exe Running Processes

I was just checking out the processes running on my computer and found that
there were 32 . Five of which are svchost.exe is that common? I just got some
nasty spysheriff off this computer and was wondering.


svchost.exe System 4,620 K
svchost.exe Network Serv. 4,012 K
svchost.exe System 20,024 K
svchost.exe Local Serv. 4,240 K
svchost.exe System 3,492 K

It's perfectly normal to have several instances of Svchost.exe
running simultaneously.

However, if Svchost.exe is using a large portion of your CPU
cycles, it has most likely been "hijacked" by a worm, Trojan, or
scumware.
