I am a newbie! obviously by my question.
Someone has been playing on my computer and now the task bar is vertical
along the left side of the desktop. How do I get it back to going
horizontally across the bottom of my screen?

Left click on it and drag it back wherever you want it to go.

If it won't move, right click on the taskbar and uncheck "Lock the
Taskbar". After it's moved back, recheck this.

Also know that Help and Support is a great feature. Click on Start,
then Help and Support. In the search box type in task bar. One of the
choices that shows up is "Move the tasbar". That feature and doing a
search on www.google.com should be your first places to check when you
have a question.
