takes ages to unlock my pc each morning

I lock my pc ( windows key + L) before i go home each night.

when i get in in the morning and hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to unlock my pc, the hard
disk activity goes through the roof ( well, the Hard disk light on my pc is
going mental) and it can take up to 35 minutes before im presented with the
screen to enter my username password.

it means that i have ot either shut down my pc or reset it each day. i
thought resetting your pc each day was something that disappeared with win
95/98.

Is this computer a member of a domain? If yes, check your DNS settings. The
server should only look to itself for DNS with forward/reverse lookup zones
created for Internet access. Workstations should only look to the server
for DNS.

Otherwise, perhaps you have some (or many!) network resources mapped that no
longer exist and the computer is timing out searching for them.

Look in Event Viewer for clues.
Start Orb>Search box>type: eventvwr.msc
Click on eventvwr.msc when it appears in the Results box above.

If you need more help, please post back with more details about your
computer and the network it is on. Please also include the answer to The
First Question of Troubleshooting: did things ever work and if yes, what
changed?
