Hello,
Target designer hang when I add the second component. If I save and close
the project after the add of the first component, it hang when reopening the
slx file. I work with XP SP2 OS and the XP2 embedded is also SP2. Thanks for
your help.

Check the Messages pane in Target Designer (at the bottom of the TD
window). Also check the eventlog (application and system) for any
errors/warnings. May need to clear the logs before reproducing the problem
again. If it doesn't show any related errors, check if TD pops up a window
that may got hidden behind other windows (you can display the desktop or
use Alt-Tab to browse through all open windows). Also, I suggest disabling
any Anti-virus programs prior to working with TD and other tools in the XPe
toolkit. TD uses vbscripts when opening/saving/dep_check/building/closing a
configuration and an AV program might intercepts these scripts and somehow
treat it as malicious scripts causing various issues.

Also - how big is the slx and how much RAM do you have? I've had trouble
with running the tools on under-specced machines.

Hello,

drwtsn.log reports a problem in msvcrt!wcslen.

OK odd question - have you got any recently-installed software on the
development machine?
I was trying to set up some motion-sensitive office surveilance to find
out who kept 'borrowing' my screwdrivers, and the software I installed
to do it with hosed... well I think it was the script host but, whatever
it actually was, I couldn't do anything with Target Designer any more.
Not *quite* the same thing as I couldn't open any .slx files but worth
thinking about.

I have not "exotic" softwares. Only Office and Visual .net 2003. I am trying
uninstal all and reinstall step by step : xp embedded sp1 first, then if ok
sp2 and finally language pack.

Can you also share the call stack at the time of fault from Drwtsn32 log?
Thx

After formatting my computer and re-install my computer, target designer
works correctly ...
I am reinstalling all the applications, making a ghost after each stages.
It's not an interesting work.
