tables in tables

I am relatively new to FP2002. I am using tables for most of my work but
find when I put a table into a cell of another table (nesting??), I cannot
then select the underlying cell even if there is space around the nested new
table. The only way I have found to select the cell is to select the nested
table, cut it, then select the cell and make the modifcations I want, then
paste the nested table back into the cell.

My sense is there must be a better way but I've yet to find it. Perhaps a
hot key to cycle through each element until you get to the one you want.

Can anyone help with this....thanks

Actually in FP 2003 you would not use Reveal tags
- instead turn on the Quick Tag Selector

| Hi, open the page in Code view. (If you select the cell or row, it will be
| selected in Code view so you can find it easily.) You can sort out which code
| goes with the inner table and which goes with the surrounding cell. A new
| cell will start with <td> and a new table with <table>.
| Either make your formatting changes in Code (you can copy from other cells)
| or select the surrounding cell in Code and go back to Page view where
| (hopefully) the highlighting will refer to the surrounding cell and not its
| contents; then you can use the Table commands as usual.
| FP 2003 also has a "Reveal Tags" under the View menu that is very helpful,
| but I don't know about PF 2002.
| Good luck! -- Mir

Thanks, I'm in 2002 and the reveal tags are there, they just don't delineate
the underlying cell, the table yes but the cell ...no
