Table of Contents problem Front Page 2002

I need a TofC by category. I categorized each page in my website into 4
different category headings.
But when I generate the TofC, there is only a list of the pages. None are
categorized.
So what am I missing here? I'm using Front Page 2002 and my site is hosted
by Earthlink, using extensions.

Thanks for the reply, Kathleen. Yes, I previewed it. There is simply a list
of my pages, hyperlinked. No category divisions or headings.

I'm not sure what you mean by running the server extensions locally. Yes,
it's happening on my machine. I am in process of putting this site together;
this section has not been published yet. On my original site, which has been
up for years, the server extensions are running.

Did you create your TOC page using the Categories option or Web Site Option in Insert Web Component TOC
- and then save the file and use file preview in browser

Stefan, Kathleen and Tina - I just got it. Duh. The manual I'm using
neglected to mention that you must type in each heading. I assumed they would
each be generated automatically when I inserted the web component table of
contents. When I type in a heading and insert one category at a time, it
works fine.
It would be nice if all manuals assumed everyone is a newbie, wouldn't
it? :)
Thanks for your time and effort.
