Table of Contents doesn't print

My Table of Contents in Word 2000 is not printing. I get codes {TOC \o \h \z
\t "heading 2,2Heading 3,3"} and tried the toggle but the TOC as it appears
on the screen does not show up in Print Preview and does not print and I
don't know why.

Tools > options > print > uncheck 'field codes'

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View tab | uncheck the "All",
"Hidden text", and "Field codes" boxes | Print tab | uncheck the "Hidden
text" and "Field codes" boxes | OK.
