Tabbing columns.

Is there a way to tab the whole column? In a previous post I have to convert
a few scanned documents from a picture file to a word file.
The columns end up in a table. I convert the table to words using the
conversion for tabs. But the shift to the right. I can change one tab at a
time, but I want to tab a whole column, rather than one at a time. I have
about 4 columns to do.
