sytem keeps hutting down

I have been having a problem with a windows 2k server,
about 60 seconds after I login windows shuts down &
says 'its no safe to turn off you computer' whether I log
on to the network or just let the server sit there at the
control alt del screen after power recycling. If I boot
up in safe or debugging mode the system is ok. Doe's
anyone know what files I can check. I have the scanned
for viruses (none- I have latest updates)Right now my
only course ofr action is to rebuild it, which of course
is a last resort
P.S. the problem started when an outside company was
given access to this server to develope an application.
