Sysytem recognition problem with a PenDisk!

I have a Keydisk 256MB from Celldisk Company.I have problems
of recognition of the system(winXP)since i disconnected
unapropriately.Now,when i connect it,it recgonises with a
weird name and asking me for drives.That shouldn´t
happen,there no drives forXP!Is my case helpless?I
aprecciate every help that i can get.Answer to my mail.

What happens if you insert the disk, then unmount it correctly, then insert it again? Also, have you restarted your PC between attempts?

It mean he just pulled it out without first "dismounting" the 'drive' ... as with all USB "pen" devises they draw power from the USB port and you can 'pull' them out and, oops, a little spark occurs. (I know, I've seen it)



Do as Ian suggests, it may work ... then again you may need an RMA # and get it replaced.

yeah ive tried several times and in differnte PCs.Still im going 2 try in a MAC (OS9 OSX) for better results.Maybe it can recognise as a hard disk and then i format it et voilá! (I hope so)

Your welcome ... I was lucky, I just told them it was DOA ... but then I have been trading with that company for the past 5-6 years.

It was a very colourfull spark, and the USB port won't work now.

Yeah. great! by the way, i´ve tried,as i said in 2 MACs and...nothing.No recognition.
Well, now ím thinking on getting on pendisk. that one is useless.I can´t do nothing with her.I´m gonna the problem to the manufacturer company and, still gonna buy another one.
What do you advise me?
I´m thinking on one of 256MB,cheap or a bit more...

Fianlly i solved my problem with the pendisk! i found a HP format utility for removables disks and worked wonderfully! I plugged in the pen (who was recgonised wtih problems...) and the software format it with no problem! Cool!
Ill post in couple day the link 2 this miraculous software (FREE!).

Download the HP format utility, install it and problems with pendisks are solved!
