I don't have a clue as to what i have done; but when i go
to the start button and click onto control panel; i click
onto the performance and maintenance....and then on the
left hand side i click onto the system restore...this is
what is receive..."windows cannot find %system root%
\system32\restore\rstrui.exe..make sure i have typed the
name coreectly and then try again"....i had try this and i
have tried to go to add/remove programs....i get the same
thing windows cannot find it.....im at a lost for what to
do....plz help....i don't know if i have lost anything or
if it is just somewhere else in my computer....thanks for
listening......pat

Have you tried rebooting into the advanced options menu,
for either safe mode, or select the "last known good
configuration" yet ? I would run the system file checker
tool, click your start<run, then type in; " sfc /scannow "
with that space after the sfc. It will ask for your XP CD
to copy any needed system files. If this does not fix
this, then you may need to do a repair type reinstall of
XP, by booting to your XP CD.
