systems Hangs up as browsing

Hi,

Can anyone help me to identify this issue. I'm using win
XP with IE 6.0 sp1.

I have noticed many time while browsing through the sites
(one or many) IE6.0 browser hosses the whole system. All i
have to power of the system and power back on. And it will
still continue. Have tried to re-install ie 6.0.

Pl get back to me if you have any patches or other
alternatives.

This is a long shot, but are you using another desktop setting, under
display properties, other than the default? I went through everything
you did, and then felt like a total jackass when I removed the custom
desktop and the problem was gone. However, this was something specific
with my machines video drivers and xp. The symptoms were identical to
yours.
