System32 Folder Opens on Startup

Greetings,

I have a friend with a new Dell Desktop Computer and today
he booted into XP and the System32 Folder opens after he
boots into Windows. Otherwise his system is functioning
normally.

I had him check the settings for remember previously
opened folders on next boot up and he says that it is set
not to remember.

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA!
