system wont restart after install xp sp2

ihave a acer travelmate 252lc_dt
intel pentium 4
2.6 ghz
256mb ddr sdram
system will not restart in any mode ie safe mode , last
known good configuration etc just hangs and keeps
restarting after displaying the windows xp logo please
advise
