System Tray Icons 'Disappear'

Hello, I've recently noticed that various icons in the
system tray fail to show, including Windows Messenger,
the network connection icon and even sound control.
I know that these icons should be appearing as I
have 'Show all icons' option set and I know that these
programs are running as it says so in the Windows Task
Manager under Processes.
From what I read generally on the internet, this cannot
be fixed, not even sure why Windows does this, maybe
someone can shed some light.
This has become very annoying!

Thanks!

Do you have 'hide inactive icons' set? Right click
start---properties---taskbar tab.

i had the problem too and did the following with succes

right click on desktop and click "Properties" from men
Select the "Appearence" tab from the windo
Under "Windows and Buttons", select Windows Classic style if you are using the XP Style and vice cersa if you are using the "Classic Style"

once doing this you will probably notice your taskbar icons to appear (which I did) and you can change your "Style" back to your original selectio

go right ahead and close out of the window
