System Shutdown

shortly after starting IE I get the messeage;
"System Shutdown
This shutdown was iniated by NT Authority\System
Windows must now restart because the remote procedure call
(RPC) service terminated unexpectedly.

What could be wrong? How do I fix it? I tiec microsoft's
Knowleged base but came up empty.
