-----Original Message-----
Hi everyone. I have a new laptop with XP on it, and I have
installed a dial up account with an ISP. Once connected to
ISP and surfing, within a minute or so I get
message "System shutdown initiated by NT Authority/System"
it then counts down from 60 secsonds and closes XP down.
Any ideas please?
TIA Steve
.

Install a firewall (software like or hardware like router)
to help prevent future similar issues.

Most users will be using the 32 bit edition of WinXP Home

Many thanks for the response, and so quick! I will try and
sort the virus out tonight.
Quite how a virus can get on the machine tho is another
story.. it was bought brand new and did not have any
internet connectivity until last night.. most odd!
Many thanks anyways..
Steve
