System SAYS I have a Enhanced USB...

Both Windows XP SP2 and Device Manager are telling me that I have an
Enhanced USB hub with 8 plugs on my computer, but I cant find them.

I plug in my MP3 player to any of my USB plugs and Windows gives me a pop-up
telling me that this hardware would work faster on one of my 8 Enhanced USB
plugs instead of the one it's in. Disabling them, one or all, doesn't help.

Device Manager tells me I have 5 separate USB hubs:
24D2 with 2 plugs
24D4 with 2 plugs
24D7 with 2 plugs
24DE with 2 plugs on an added "D" Bracket supplied with MB.
24DD Enhanced with 8 (invisible) plugs

Hardware:
Windows XP Home SP2
Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz W/HT
Motherboard-MSI 865 PE NEO2
Two 512 mb Corsair 400mhz RAM chips Dual Ram Memory
160GB Maxtor HD SATA partitioned into 4 equal drives
80GB Maxtor HD EIDE Partitioned into 2 equal drives
Nvidia 5600 FX 256 mb AGP Video Card
Sound Blaster Live Sound Card
Network Card for shared high-speed internet connection
Internal DVD Re-Writer
Internal DVD Reader
Floppy Disk Drive
HP 1200 USB Printer
All on-board sound, video and network plus are disabled in BIOS

Thanks for any help I can get.

Have you compared the connections inside your computer to the diagrams
in your motherboard's manual? It sounds a bit like no ports are
connected to the appropriate header pins on the motherboard.

I have compared them and everything looks to match exactly. All plugs appear
to be where they're supposed to be. There are no jumpers involved. There are
also no BIOS option for turning on or off any hubs or Enhanced USB switches.

The first six USB plugs are hardwired to the MB and the added "D"-bracket,
which came with this MB, is USB2 capable (according to the manual and print
on the bracket), and is plugged into the only place it can be.

Thanks for your time and help.

Maybe XP found the USB enhanced chip, but can't utilize it unless its
enabled in the bios?
