System Restore

I have tried to do a System Restore , when I click on system restore nothing
happens
I have tried it in safe mode , same results
I have checked the files need for the restore:

srdiag.exe 5.1.2600.0
srframe.mmf
srrstr.dll 5.1.2600.2180

srvsvc.dll 5.1.2600.2577
Can anyone verify that I have the correct files , I did a check and found
that another file
exist for rstrui.exe the version number is 5.1.2600.2180
Could this be causing my problem
I have the Service Pack 2 cd , do not know how I extract the file
Any help would be appreciated

Yes, those are the files needed. Try reinstalling System Restore.

HI Bert , Just reinstalled SP2 Service Pack2
The rstrui.exe has a new version 5.1.2600.2180
Tried the restore again, double clicked on system restore nothing happens
