system restore wont work

S

saradog12

When I try and open System Restore, the computer thinks for a while,
then
stops as if it hadn't been told to execute anything, the program never
appears. No matter how many times I try and open it, from the Start
Menu
shortcut and the actual exe, nothing appears, the computer simply
begins to
do something, then stops.
I have also noticed that I have lost the search facility on the start
menu, when you click on it it opens with the little dog just sitting
there and nothing else.
Another problem is that any web site which requires javascript to be
enabled wont open even when this option is enabled in the properties
menu.
I have also tried reloading windows XP home edition but computer
crashes half way through.

Help!

Type these commands from Start, Run:

regsvr32 jscript
regsvr32 vbscript
regsvr32 /i mshtml

Logoff, and log back in. If that does not help, apply the .VBS fix available
in this page:
