is system restore will do any help to recover data from excel. I want to

no changes in excel sheets.

No. System restore doesn't store data files, but will let you step back
from system configuration problems (if you've installed updates, for
example).
For data files, you need to save a backup copy.

In addition to the backup mentioned in your other reply sometimes people get
lucky if they have mailed the file to someone and find a copy in their outbox.

If you are running Windows Vista, you might be able to get back an earlier
version of the file if a System Restore was done after the previous version
was saved. Right-click the file icon in a folder view window and choose
"Previous Versions" and see what shows up.

I use Jan Karel Pieterse's AutoSafe utility, rather than the built-in
AutoSave. AutoSave writes over the file it is saving, while AutoSafe saves a
copy in another directory. When it saves the next copy, the previous copy
goes to the Recycle Bin, where it joins a running backup with all of the
versions saved since the last time the Recycle Bin was cleared. I set the
save interval to 7 or 8 minutes, so a lot of versions are archived, but I've
never done too much work since the previous version.

You will also find the very handy Name Manager and several other utilities
and articles.

Any case of abnormal data corruption in Windows FAT & NTFS file
systems can cause data loss in the data residing in the hard disk of
the computer. The easy way to revive the lost data is to use an
efficient Windows recovery software. Kernel for Windows Data Recovery
is such a data recovery software that revives all lost, formatted and
permanently deleted files from hard disk drive. It supports both FAT &
NFTS file systems.
