I use Jan Karel Pieterse's AutoSafe utility, rather than the built-in
AutoSave. AutoSave writes over the file it is saving, while AutoSafe saves a
copy in another directory. When it saves the next copy, the previous copy
goes to the Recycle Bin, where it joins a running backup with all of the
versions saved since the last time the Recycle Bin was cleared. I set the
save interval to 7 or 8 minutes, so a lot of versions are archived, but I've
never done too much work since the previous version.
