system restore /scanner problem

how do i get system restore back dated,i cannot get system to function .
also can iobtain a patch to make COLORADO PRIMAX 9600 SCANNER compatable to
work with WINDOWS XP . BOB H

System restore can only restore to the restore points shown on the calendar.

From the Primax web site: "Primax is not producing any driver files for the
