System Restore Nightmare

I run XP (SP2) with all latest Microsoft updates. I recently added a USB HDD
and moved all my important files onto it. I had need to run System Restore
to remove some software bits that were hanging around. Everything OK so far.
I then tried the software again, the same thing happened so I restored again.
Here's the problem..
The first restore wiped all my .dll and .exe files as well as some others
from my new USB HDD. I didn't find out until after I had reestored the
second time. Is there any way I can 'Undo my last Restoration' TWICE. Any
help would be much appreciated.

Tim

If you are using that USB drive as a backup device why are you letting XP
create restore points on it......turn it off on that drive.
You should be able to undo your last restore..........not too sure about
twice

Hi Peter,

I didn't realise XP would do that on the usb drive, should've realised but
there you are. I've turned it off now, rather like shutting the gate after
the horse has bolted!!! I am offered my last restore point, I am hoping that
a guru out there might know how to do it twice. Thanks for your input.

Just an idea here...
Try using some undelete/unerase software to your USB drive.
There is some chance that the files are still there. Avoid adding any new
data to that drive though, as it might completly delete any trace of the
files that you lost with that restore.
Might just work. Try using more than one programs.
