System Restore Error

I'm having trouble running System Restore. When I try to
run it, I get the following:

An exception occured while trying to run "shell32dll,
Control_RunDLL "C:\WINDOWS\System 32\sysdm.cpl" , System"

I've tried the recommended troubleshooing to no avail; at
this point, I cannot even access the System Restore tab
when I go to My Computer > Properties. I am at that point
presented with:

Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I've sent several error reports on this and have received
no reply.

Does anyone have any ideas/fixes? All useful information
would be helpful!

Yeah, I was paging through and I saw at least two more of
these. Mine is on XP Pro/SP2, but it's still the same
thing...

I got it working! I found help on this site:

It had specific instructions for how to fix the problem
that I was having.

Oops. Messed up the first reply.
I installed SP2, then found I couldn't access the System Restore tab. So I
unistalled SP2. Still no Sys Restore tab!
Fond your post, did what it said, now it's back!!

Thank you very much for finding the answer.

Not sure I want to try SP2 again yet though.
