system freezing

J

John M.

Have recently updated my operating system from ME to XP
(Full Installation) - Ever since the update have been
experiencing a freezing of my system, especially when it
goes into screen saver mode....screen saver will be on
for approx 24hrs after which time my system will have
frozen and I have been left to perform a hard
reboot...non of the power saving features (ie)
hibernation mode are on as I thought this might rectify
the issue. Also, when installing a compatible XP program
on my system I found myself in a situation where once
again my system freezes on me in the middle of the
instalation process - whereby a hard reboot is requried
and I find myself having to reload the said program...
Any assistance you could offer would be greatly
appreciated!!

You need to set the computer up in,"power options".Running screen saver fo
24 hrs can be done, but why, select correct time frame for shut-down,o
hibernation.If you gotta run it 24 hrs.,so be it,open ADM.,event viewer
chk system events for specific reason(s) for shutting down.
