System freezes

A few months ago I did a clean install of WIn2k pro.
Several weeks ago my pc began to freeze. When working in
Dreamweaver I can click on a particular image and it
always freezes up. I have to power off to reboot. I looked
at the event viewer and these are some of the messages,
can this be my problem. It seems to especially lock up
when using IE 6. I've installed hot fixes and also Service
pack 4.

Event Viewer

Applications
TrueVector engine: "C:\WINNT\Internet Logs\PINE.ldb" was
corrupt and has been copied to "C:\WINNT\Internet
Logs\xDB9A.tmp".
File "C:\WINNT\Internet Logs\PINE.ldb" was corrupt and has
been deleted.
C:\WINNT\Internet Logs\IAMDB.RDB.tmp".

rasctrs: cannot be found. The local computer many not have
the necessary registry information or message DLL files to
display messages from a remote computer. The following
information is part of the event. The event log file is
corrupt.

System
Service Control Manager: The Client Service for NetWare
service terminated with the following error: The parameter
is incorrect.

NWCWorkstation: The Microsoft Client Service for Netware
could not start because it did not bind to any transports.

Richard - it would be a good idea to do a chkdsk /r on all your
partitions in case one or more is developing bad spots, which could
account for some or all of those symptoms. You'll have to reboot one or
more times to get this done.

Please post back with results. There may be more to do depending on what
you discover.

If you're not familiar with chkdsk, just go to Start/Help/Search for
info. Or for a quick summary of syntax go to a command prompt and type
chkdsk /?

.
Windows 2000 (any edition) issue that is caused when the
following three services are disabled: Remote Access Auto
Connection Manager, Remote Access Connection Manager,
Telephony (all of which are set to Manual by default).
Typically, someone would disable these services on Domain
Controllers (or other editions) to reduce the number of
unncessary services running, of which, these three are not
needed as long as RAS is not needed. This message can be
especially troublesome on a DC due to it appearing every
60 seconds and filling up/creating large "Application"
event log file. However, it is a harmless error.
To resolve:
1. Run "unlodctr rasctrs.dll" to unload the counter.
2. Delete the performance counter registry key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess.
Delete the entire "Performance" key.
The error will cease.

Please reply.Thanks.
