hi my name is tom and i am a music producer. i have emergency remix work
coming to me and i am in quite the pickle.

recently a friend re-booted my computer, before hand he copied all my folders
including program folders to a seperate hard disk so i could copy them back
once i had re-installed the software. i said to have my user as DJTEE so all
the old filepaths for my wav audio samples would be correct when i wanted to
open a old project. he callled it DJTEE1 because he had already named my
computer DJTEE and it would not let him use the same name for my log on.

what i am looking to do is re-name my log on to DJTEE again and for my user
folder to change with it so all my filepaths are correct. i knew the folder
name would not change with the re-name of my user account unless i seeked
help about it, can someone help me?

thank you

If I understand you correctly then this is your situation:
- Your PC's name is DJTEE.
- Your logon account is DJTEE1.
- Your user profile folder is DJTEE1.
- You want your logon name to be DJTEE.
- You ant your profile folder to be DJTEE..

While it is possible to change your logon name to DJTEE,
it would be simpler to leave the logon name as DJTEE1
and simply rename your profile folder to DJTEE. Would
this meet your requirements?

1. Rename your computer. You should never name your computer the same as a
user. Go to Control Panel>System>Computer name tab. Pick something else and
then reboot.

2. Create a new user account called DJTEE and log into it once. Then you can
copy the old DJTEE1 account by following these directions (very easy):

When you know you have everything in DJTEE the way you want it, you can
delete the DJTEE1 account from the User Accounts Control Panel applet if
you like.
