I need to copy my web files from my desktop (XPhome) to my laptop
(Win2K). I am using FP2002. I get the System Exception error. Is
this a bug? Can I fix this with the upgrade to FP2003?

To get a meaningful answer you'll need to post more
information. For example:

o How are these machines connected?
o How are you going about copying these Web files?
o What's the exact error message, and when does it occur?
o Are there any other unusual messages or symptoms?

Jim,
Thank you for the reply. I was wondering which message was posted. I
had a nice long message posted, but google came back with a 'posting
error'. Sorry, to answer your questions,
1. I am not sure it matters. I need to move the complete web files
from my desktop to my notebook. I have a house network for file
copying, but I could email, burn a CD, etc. to move them properly. I
don't think the problem is with the move, it is with opening the files
once they are moved.
2.Right now I am using explorer
3.The error message is System Exception Access Violation.
4.No.

OK, so the error doesn't occur during copying; it occurs after you
chose Open Web from the File menu, specify the folder where the copied
files resiode, and click Open. Right?

If so, the following advice is generic, but may help.

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office
