System Error 5

I have 1 laptop and desktop connected to a router cum modem. I have a problem
using my laptop to access my desktop. It gives a me a system error 5: "Access
Denied".

I have no problem accessing my desktop via my laptop by directly entering
the desktop's ip address. I have also checked my firewall on both computers
and i am sure it is configured properly. I tried to do it after disabling my
firewall, but still to no avail.

My desktop is using Win XP Pro SP2 and my laptop is using the Win XP Tablet
PC Edition 2005. Has anyone experienced this before?

Open your Windows explorer then click Tools >> Folder Options, then enable
Simple File sharing.
You receive an "Access denied" or "The network path was not found" error
message when you try to remotely manage a computer that is running Windows XP
Service Pack 2

Previously, i had no problem accessing my desktop via my laptop until now. I
do not wish to use simple file sharing because i have set some of the
securities for my shared folders.

Could there be any other reason as to why access is denied?
