system configuration utility

In the system configuration utility, should I be using the "normal setup"
option? I think another option was "selective setup". Don't remember what
the third option was.

Unless you are actively trouble shooting a current problem you would want to
use "normal".

Msconfig is designed to be a troubleshooting tool, not a "startup
configurer." It should be used in Normal mode, unless you're actively
troubleshooting a problem.
