System clock appearance on task bar

Since installing applications on my new system, the system clock displays
both the date and day of the week in the Quick launch area of the task bar.
This forces the
taskbar to display distorted icons no matter what screen density I chose.
How do I change the system clock setting to display the time of day AND NOT
the day of the week?

Thanks in advance.

The date and day of week only shows if you have your task bar at double
height. Unlock the taskbar, if locked, and then drag it down back to single
height. Just the time will display then.

As I understand it (and I may be wrong) the day and date are displayed by
default only when you have made the taskbar double sized by dragging it up a
notch. If it is double sized, reduce it to single sized (you will have to
unlock it to move it) and the day/date should to away.

Unfortunately, when I try to drag the taskbar's edge to shrink it to single
height, it disappears with just a line showing on the screen's edge. What am
I doing wrong?

Sure your quick launch shortcuts are not on the second line or your
minimized programs are on the second line. Try opening a program, then drag
the quick launch and program area around so that they are all on the top
single line, then try to drag the bar down.

Unfortunately, when I try to do as you suggest, I cannot reduce the taskbar's
heigth anymore than it is. It looks like I am stuck with what i have. I'll
just have to get used to it sionce this did not happen on my older system. I
now have a 17" flat panel display on the new system while the old system had
a 15" display.

Thanks.

In that case rotate the "Bar" up to the right side of the screen. That
ought to drop the date out.

I have tried that. The day of the week disappeared but i did not like the way
it looked. Thanks.
