I got virus W95/CTX yesterday - it corrupted 27 files. Now get a message thru
Desktop Notepad when I start computer - it says " [.shellclassinfo] localized
resourcename=system root %\system 32\shell 32.dll, -21787 - Windows cannot
load the locally stored profile. Possible causes include insufficient secuity
rights or a corrupt local profile. Windows cannot find the local profile and
is logging you on on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this
profile will not be saved. "
Problems: Settings will NOT save - the virus wiped out Favorites and Outlook
Express, most of desktop icons, get windows that pop up continuously asking
if I want to continue -yes - no - check here if you don't want to see this
message again, shortcuts won't save to desktop (I must use Start - Programs)
I have Compaq Presario 6310, Windows XP Home Edition 2002, McAfee virus,
Microsoft Antispyware, Grisoft Firewall, TMDA to screen for junk mail -
update daily and scan daily and still got virus
How do I fix it so the settings will save.
Thanks, Barbara
