Sysprep - Two problems

Hi,

I am using Sysprep and Ghost 8 to image and clone around 200 pc's in a lab,
and facing 2 problems.

1. I am using Setupmgr.exe from XP Pro SP1. whenever I change something
in sysprep.inf the setting are still there, I even deleted sysprep.inf
completely, created newone, still old setting comes up from somewhere by
magic. Finally have to delete un-wanted entries manually from sysprep.inf
file. (Then what is purpose of Setupmge.exe !!!!)

2. I created sysprep.inf file by setupmgr.exe, included administrator
password as encrypted and checked to login as administrator first time after
mini setup.

during mini-setup it gives error that administrator password can't be
changed so have to enter manually. But it works fine if I entered as
administrator password as clear text. So there must be something wrong with
encrypted password.

Any help will be highly appreciated as can't login as administrator to 200
pcs after mini setup.

Thanks
Raheel

Ran in to the same probelm my self. found that if you do
not update the sysprep files in ghost to match the
new .inf files. it will use your old settings when imaging.
not only do you have to update the inf file, you need to
reload the inf file in ghost as well.

If you had already configured you Administrator's password
before you image you machine. Leave the password blank and
do not encrypt. I found that this got me pass the Admin
password selection when installing.

Hope this helps
