Synctoy seems to loose grip

I travel between two locations where I have desktops. I also have a laptop
and maxtor storage device which I bring along too. I was try to use synctoy
to keep files in sync between all devices.

However when I delete files on one device synctoy seems to continue to try
to put them back when I move between devices. Apparently it is retaining
references to files but I do not understand its process.

It seem to work fine on one computer, but when I started rearranging files
and tying to sync them to another computer the deletes stoped and the old
files tried to reestablish themselves, even identical file names from both
computers that I already had placed in the trash.

I tried clearing old sync toy data files but that did not seem to help

Any suggestions?

I have been using SyncToy for a few months now but don't use it exactly like
you. I do know that how the program operates depends entirely on the
selection you make for the left and right folders and the method of
syncing.(Synchronize, echo, subscribe, etc.) Check and make sure that the
options are selected to do exactly what you want the program to do. If this
program, like Briefcase, is used incorrectly you can lose a lot of
information in a relatively short period of time.

Sorry I can't help you more.

I have tried the different options after saving a copy of the data first. On
inspection it dosen't seem to do what I would expect it should do. I concur
a lot of data can dissapear quickly.
