syncronizing files

I am trying to set up my desktop to syncronize files with 2 laptops connected
on a home network.
All machines run Windows XP
Fast user switching is off
Enable offline files is checked
Syncronize all offline files before logging off is checked

The "Make available offline" command does not appear when I select a folder
I want to syncronize.

Am I missing something?

Try opening my documents or similiar,tools,select syncronize,follow the
wizard...

Are you selecting a network shared folder?
In other words, when you're on your laptop, the only files that you can
make available offline are files that are on the desktop computer. If
you open a shared folder on the desktop computer, the option should be
available there.
