Syncing Outlook with Verizon XV6700 Pocket PC - Help!

Hi everyone,

I am new here, so please forgive me if this has already been discussed. I
just got my new VX6700 pocket PC from Verizon last week and I can get it
connected to my computer (Dell), but I cannot get it to sync with Outlook
2003. I get an error message:

Support Code: 85010014

My husband CAN get it to sync with Outlook 2003 on his Dell laptop, so there
must be a setting on my computer or in Outlook that needs to be changed.

I will be grateful for any suggestions.

I would check with the cell phone provider to see what they show on their
FAQs for known issues with connections to third party programs. It may be
as simple as having to tweak the synchronization software, but they would
know that.

Thanks for your reply. I did finally get through to Microsoft. I talked to
a wonderful gentleman in India who helped me to re-install and configure
Outlook 2003 - and that took care of it. Whew! I've been fretting over this
for days, so I am very relieved to have the sync working now!

If you connect to an Exchange Server, you have to make a connection to
the server in order to syncronize the first time, from that point
forward you no longer have to be connected. If you connect via a VPN
connection, it won't work because the sync connection will cause your
vpn connection to drop so you either have to make a physical connection
to your corporate network or make a dialup connection so that you are
connected. This is only for the 1st sync and you don't have to sync
everything on that 1st sync. Just sync a couple of task to keep it fast
and then your ready to have fun with your new VX6700. Hope this all
helps.
