Syncing Axim X30 with Outlook 2003

I have been trying to sync my contacts between PDA and Outlook 2003 using
ActiveSync 3.7.1. Everything synced fine with 2002 but now that I'm using
Outlook 2003 it's not working. I get a message stating that the contact
"cannot be written to Microsoft Outlook due to error 80004005." Any help
would be much appreciated.

I had the same problem with my pocketpc device. Couldn't sync any new
contacts, appointments, or tasks. Kept getting the 80004005 error
message. Turns out you have to activate the Outlook 2003 software -
which doesn't require your personal info, just a few mouse clicks.
They give you a few dozen 'freebie' launches of Outlook before it locks
you out of adding any new records to it. Launch Outlook and look for
something in the Tools menu about registering the product. When you
find it and click it it will say something about outlook being in
'minimum functionality mode' or some such nonsense. Anyway, hope this
helps. -p

look on the Help menu- If you haven't activated outlook yet, it's on the
help menu too.
