Hello,
I recently upgraded to 2003 for my laptop, I sync the pst file with my
desktop running outlook 2000, so far so good! But are these 2 files
compatable? I wonder if there are issues which I haven't come aross yet?

Many thanks

When you create an Outlook 2003 formatted pst-file you cannot open it in
Outlook 2000.

Since I don't know what method of synching you are refering to I can't tell
you if you could face any difficulties.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your reply,
If you mean did I create the PST file in 2003, no. It was created (and
therefore i assume 'formatted') in 2000. I discarded the pst file which was
created when I installed 2003 on my laptop, and replaced it with a copy of
the 2000 pst file. I now use some backup software (second copy) to
syncronise the 2 files.
It certainly opens and seems to work ok on my 2000 system, but am i falling
off a cliff shouting 'everything's fine so far'?

My little experience of computers has led be to believe that if it can go
wrong, it eventually will!

cheers

A good way to corrupt your mail profile.

Again, it depends on what the sync software does, but it sounds like you're
using the old format of the PST on both machines, so you shouldn't have any
trouble unless you hit the 2 GB PST limit the old format has.

Hi Brian
Yes I'm definately using the 2000 pst file, and even though I've been using
it for 5 years now it's still way below 2gb!

Thanks for your reply
