synchronizing sound and mixing footage

HAROLD SILBER

Hello
I need some help, synchronizing sound to video footage which I shot over the
weekend . I am not sure if WMM 2 would be the right prog for this type of
editing ...

I recorded the sound directly onto a sony Mini Disc walkman digital
recorder ( MZ-R50) of the entire concert ,,, male vocal singing ...

To complicate matters I had one camera in a static position ,,, and I user
the other one up front close to the stage ...

Would I be able to use WMM2 for something like this .....

I know that the other more ' advanced' ediditing prog's have multiple video
and sound tracks ...

How would I go about synchronizing the sound ???

Your comments urgently requested ..

Hi there,

Only you can answer your question. The film industry use clapper boards, I'm
sure you have seen them.

The basic process involves importing both film and audio into Movie Maker 2 and
then by a method you employed whilst doing the capture (Clapper board or
whatever) you align the audio signal peek with the instant the clapper board
closes.

Use the two audio tracks of MM2, putting the same clip on both and aligning
the 2 using the wave patterns.... alignment is quick and easy.

Hi PapaJohn,

The problem is the audio tracks are not attached to any video...there is no
reference point to align too.

if you know the approximate alignment in time, which you usually do, you can
visually see where the patterns align.... as long as one of them is attached
to video.
