Synch Mobile Device?

I have a mobile device (Trimble GeoXT) running Windows Mobile Version 5.0. It
connects to my XP laptop by USB and is shown in the file explorer as the
Mobile Device. But SyncToy cannot use the Mobile Device to create a pair.
Seems like the intent of SyncToy is to synch devices like this. What am I
doing wrong?

Hi,

Unfortunately this is not a supported scenario with SyncToy today. Windows
Mobile 5.0 devices do not expose their file system as a Windows file system
endpoint (e.g. as a USB mass storage device). What you see in Explorer when
the device is connected is done via shell extensions I believe (not through
normal file system APIs).
