Sync issue

Our client has an issue with synchonizing. Some of the
computers will just stop sync'ing while others continue
to work fine. They recently switched from Outlook 2002
(XP) to Outlook 2003 and are attached to Exchange 2003
running on Small Business Server. We don't receive any
error messages when Sending and Receivng, it behaves
normally, just dosn't update any folders.

I know it sounds a little far fetched, but I had the same
issue. Replacing the Nic card resolved these issues. Don't
ask me why but it did.

Are the non-updating users on the same network segment (or on multiple
network segments but all huddled on those segments)? Do users on the
same network segment get updated while others on the same segment not
get updated? When the non-updating users change to a different folder
and then switch back to the prior folder, do they they see an update?

If the non-updating users are on a different segment than the updating
users, it sounds like something in the network is blocking UDP traffic
to the segment on which the non-updating users reside. Exchange uses
UDP to send an update to the recipients. You need to change those users
to use polling instead.

Although the KB article talks about NAT, anything that blocks UDP
packets, like a firewall, bridge, or gateway can cause the problem. The
KB article tells you how to switch from notification from Exchange to
making the client poll for updates. Another possible cause is name
resolution. See:
