Switching from slide show to web and back

Is there a way to switch from a slide show to a web site and then back (and
forth and back) without losing the position in either the slides or the web
page?

Here's what I am trying to do. I am preparing a presentation for a club to
give the audience an exposure to eBay. I want to bring up a topic and then
show what it looks like in real life and time. Then resume the presentation
from where I left off. And then repeat as required.

At present, I have pasted screen shots into slides. While that works the web
pages are static so they don't have the immediacy of watching an auction
closing, etc.

Is it doable or should I be satisfied staying with the static screen shots?

Would it make a difference depending of the versions of Power Point and the
operating system?

if you have both the web and ppt running you can use either alt + tab to
switch or ctrl + T to access the task bar and choose from there

You might want to consider using LiveWeb add-in, which allows you to insert
live webpages into PowerPoint. Works for PowerPoint 97 and above. Check this

I had tried alt+tab. It would not go to a web page from the slideshow.
Ctrl+T did not bring up the task bar
At home where I am working on this I have XP Pro.
The version of PP is 97.
Where I will be doing the pitch they still have WIN 98

John and Shawn beat me to the two suggestions I was going to make. You have to
get up very early or stay up very late (and probably both) to get in ahead of
both of them. ;-)

You may also want to keep a copy of your presentation with screen shots - you
never know when you're going to arrive someplace to hear "Internet connection?
You needed an internet connection?"

As it turns out Shawn's suggestion worked just fine. I could even navigate
within the web pages.
The clubhouse that we will be using has a "good" cable connection.
But I will take your sage advice since stuff does break. I will have a
backup CD just in case.

You have to start the browser and navigate to the page you want first.
Alt+Tab lets you switch from one already-open app to another.

Ctrl+T brings up the font dialog in PPT 2003 here.

Nope ... Not in PPT's 97 through 2002. A new feature in 2003 it seems.
