Switching Between Users??

I have 2 users on my Windows XP Home Edition Dell Dimension 8100.
The first user to log on usually has no problems. However, when switching
users, the second will take forever to bring up the desktop. And 99% of the
time, either it doesn't load everything, (usually Spy Sweeper in the system
tray) or it will load everything and when I click on FireFox or Outlook
Express, the system will hang forever and force me to reboot.
Does anybody know what's going on and what the fix is.
Thanks in advance.

After I looked up the 'Dell Dimension 8100' on the net. By what I found the
system has the below specs which is stock. If that is the correct system
specs, did you add more memory to the system? Reason I'm asking is cause you
really need least 512MB of ram for XP. When switching between users both
users are really logged on the system. Which means both user profiles are
using system memory. I would go for least 768MB of ram for switching between
users. Anything less I would log off and let the other user log on.

Processor manufacturer: Intel
Processor model: Pentium 4
Clock speed: 1.5 GHz
RAM installed: 128 MB
Hard drive size: 40 GB
Graphics processor: nVidia GeForce2 Ultra
Graphics RAM: 64 MB
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce2 Ultra
Display diagonal size: 19 in
Operating system: Windows ME

Yes, that's my system.
It has 256 MB of ram which is minimal.
However, user switching has worked fine for years until recently.

Since your system only has 256MB of ram. Switching between users would not
be best. Fresh install of XP uses around 130MB of ram. Thats not counting
programs you install which runs in the background. I would just log off your
user profile and let the other user log on. Having two profiles logged on
the same time both will be using the system memory. Basicly 256MB is not
enough for switching between users. That is main problem you are seeing with
your PC.
