Switch User Problems?

Using Windows XP. For some reason, if I use 'Start-Log Off-Switch User' to
exit my
desktop, Windows XP will not allow another user to open their desktop unless
they reboot.

If I use 'Start-Log Off-Log Off' to exit my desktop, then another user can
access their desktop, but then switching back takes forever as all my
drivers and desktop reloads. This just started happening after a year with
this
machine.

How can I restore the "Switch User" exit option to functionality? It's a
pain for my wife or I to reboot or log-off everytime one of us wants to use
the computer.

Thanks,

George

Is the fast user switching service running and anything that it is dependant
on? Start > run > services.msc > check it and see...

Thanks. The Fast User Switching box is checked under User Accounts. When I
use Start-Run-Services.msc, should Fast User Switching show up as "manual"
or "automatic"?

I believe you'll want it set to automatic. Mine is set to manual and the
"switch user" option is not available. (I never switch users.)
