You need to have Aero running.
Have you had it running before now?
I've noticed that visiting certain websites or running certain programs
causes the display to switch from Aero to Basic. When I leave the webpage
or close the program, Aero usually returns automatically. But sometimes it
doesn't, and I have to change it back.
Right-click on the desktop
Personalization
Window Color and Appearance
if you see different colored transparent windows, then Aero is running..
if not, click Open classic appearance properties
In the Color Schemes, do you see Windows Aero? If not, your hardware
probably doesn't support it.
Your video/graphics card needs to support aero. Do you know what graphics
card you are using?
